If you're like us, you know that good policy is really not all that complicated. Experience and common sense teaches us, for example, that:
1. Spending money you don't have and have no hope of getting is a recipe for disaster.
2. More government is rarely the solution to a problem.
3. Each individual must take primary responsibility for his own well-being and that of his family.
4. Every judge and prosecutor has a duty to apply the law as it is written, and not as he or she wishes it could be.
5. The people of a nation should determine for themselves the laws which will govern their lives.
Although the above ideas are common sense to us, we have learned that they are not common sense to everyone. Bigger government, larger debts, irresponsibility, emotional decisionmaking and internationalism seem to be the order of the day.
If you believe, as we do, in limited government, fiscal responsibility, personal responsibility, the rule of law and national sovereignty are encouraged to SIGN UP so that we can get you involved!

In sum, WE THE PEOPLE must combine their economic resources and abilities with political and legal authority in large-scale organizations that will reflect the power inherent in numbers.
This cannot be done by or through the General Government at the present time, because the General Government is the main locus of this country%u2019s problem, not the source of any solution for them.
It cannot be done through political parties, because parties (along with other factions and special-interest groups) are the control-mechanisms in the %u201Cdivide and conquer%u201D strategy the Establishment employs to prevent WE THE PEOPLE from asserting their political sovereignty in their own interest.

The number one threat this nation faces is economic not from terrorism. We cannot sustain the trillions and trillions of dollars that Congress is spending and then cramming down our throats to pay. Let's take back our country...because it IS our country not the government's.
I live and work in Plano. I am seeing many signs for republican candidates, but I don't know who to vote for. How do we get summaries of these people. Go to each individual website? I want to do the right thing.

We have been frustrated in our attempts to reverse the descent of our government into socialism/totalitarianism. It appears as though our protests consistently fall on deaf ears. It is time to take the next step and formally petition our government, our right to which in guaranteed under the first amendment. This e-mail contains a formal copy of a list of grievances and a u-tube link. It is not comprehensive but if only a fraction of these concerns are addressed, it will be a beginning. I would like to see three things done with this list. First, to have it read at every April 15 TEA party. Second, that at those TEA parties, a copy is signed by the participants and sent to the office of Speaker Pelosi via private carrier (Fed Ex, UPS). Finally, it is my desire to have these grievances entered into the congressional record. This will take a very courageous congressperson.

For years I have benn ambivalent to politics. My focus has been raising 2 kids and loving my
god and my wife. I now see that career politicians are destroying the freedoms of this country originally blessed by
god, spending money we don't have and with a president dumber than a box of rocks on how to defend this wonderful home of ours. I AM MAD AND VERY CONCERNED at some of the idiotic actions coming from

Current political policy has resulted in a $45 trillion national debt that is 65% of GDP now and 90% of GDP by 2020. Tax increases included in current bills as well as their planned tax increases will effect everyone in increased prices, job losses, and a lack of job creating. The consequences of their rejection of capitalism will result in a lower standard of living that effects everyone and that no one in this country has ever experienced if not reversed.
How about a informal meet and greet gathering for the Plano Tea party.

I agree. I'd like to do something like that too. I just found out about this group a few minutes ago and signed up. Are there events going on even after tomorrow?
I wish there where tea parties when GW was in office. Spending our money needlessly in foreign countries. Now at home we need that money back, but we will never see it again. I hope we don't try and find a scape goat for our worries in this new administration. We just didn't wake up yesteday with these problems. Let Cool heads prevail.
The democrat party claims to be for the little guy but the taxes included in the so-called health bill when combined with the deficit increase costs for everyone and kill job creation. Their proposed gasoline tax and VAT tax are regressive taxes, which burden the poor the most. The current policies of out-of-control government spending, exploding deficits, ever increasing government taxes, and ever expanding federal encroachment results in a weak economy as well as a lack of job creation.
The so-called wall street reform bill contains a liquidation fund for the FDIC which enables the fed to bailout banks in the future at taxpayer expense without judicial review and it creates the Consumer Financial Protection Agency which is yet another federal bureaucracy with unlimited authority to take over any bank without judicial review not to mention a tarp tax. This is just another government power grab to nationalize yet another industry and justifying it by attempting to demonize banks. Political mandates and the Community Reinvestment Act pushed by the Democrat party and enforcred by Janet Reno under Clinton resulted in banks having to underwrite risky loansas well as securities and this bill will not prevent afuture crisis. We all know that federal bureaucracies do a horrible job of oversight and this congress wants to expand as well as centralize the control of the federal government when the majority of American want limited government. Alert-the current democrat part controlled congress is trying to pass legislation, HR 3335, that would give convicted felons the right to vote in a desperate attempt to cancel your votes in the future. This is yet another reason to vote this November for Reagan constitutional conservatives.
Everyone keep up the great work. People have died on the oil rig in the Gulf Coast and in the floods in Tennesse but all the media can focus on is a search for any dead animal that turns up on the Gulf Coast while it takes the government weeks to repond. What is the response to this accident? To push for legislation that will increase the liability of oil companies to beneifit their trial lawyer friends only and to push for more regulations that will cost people jobs in the mining and oil industries.
Hello, I am new and have been searching for this group so tht I can be more active and participate. I agree, we need to do more and have our voices heard. The news media will not do it since they are Obama fans. We need to find another way. Willing to do what is needed. We need someone who knows what to do.

Somewhere in the last 75 years, our nation has become the "Welfare State". I have traveled to Russia, Poland, China, Vietnam and other Communist and Socialist countries. They are broken... France has learned that the welfare state does not work and is now trying to rectify their country. Germany has gotten rid of a lot of their socialist ideas and programs. When Clinton said "We should be more like Europe", I cringed. I would like the Tea Party to do a Department by Department review that includes each expenditure and the purpose. If the expenditure is not for National causes, then the program needs to be cut. I would say would could start saving money by cutting the Department of Education (we have 50 state departments of education), the Department of Energy, the Department of Commerce... these are mostly just "job programs" for the folks in D.C. Citizens of each state need to determine what welfare its citizens recieve... not the Giant U.S. Government. Keep up the good work.
I want all the county judges to run again after the redraw. They can stagger the next elections, but we need term limits there also. We need citizen representatives not professinal politicians like JWP. On a state note, why are we taking from the rainy day fund and then turning around and giving ($25,000,000) to have the can am races in Texas. The politicians (read Dems and Rep) say it generates revenue. Did you get any generated revenue???? Did your taxes go down???? No a few special interests and probably some legislators made a whole lot of money and we paid for it. Nancy Pelosi's revenue (read income) increased 62% last year did our media inform us???? The media is not reporting, except the skewed news they want us to hear and who controls the media???? It is not the Dems and it is not the Rep, why aren't we asking questions???? Are the tea parties supporting Gingrich? What are we doing? Its like Satorum says: "Gingrich is as Progressive as Paul is Libertarian!" Gingrich's favorite President is FDR and he loves Woodrow Wilson????!!!! I mean..are we nuts? We have Bachmann, Santorum and even Perry or Paul BUT Newt Gingrich? Yes, anything is better than Obama but Gingrich is not that diff!
